At RGA we foster a culture that is highly collaborative, encourages innovation and entrepreneurship, and demands the highest integrity. Combining technical expertise with curiosity and creativity defines the way we work internally and with our client partners.

2020 was an exceptional year in many ways. RGA teams responded to the pandemic with decisive and swift action, helping 98% of our global employees quickly become remote workers. While where we work may have changed, our workforce’s commitment to clients and high productivity remained constant.

We increased the Human Resources team’s focus on the physical and mental well-being of RGA employees and introduced the Care Strategy. Its aim was to provide a sense of community and enhance collaboration among our global teams in a remote working environment, making sure all employees were supported both as professionals and as people.

The Care Strategy included Employee Assistance Programs, offering ongoing and regular webinars and workshops on a diverse range of subjects, such as:

  • working effectively in a virtual environment
  • practical strategies for working with children
  • mental health awareness topics
  • workplace resilience
  • managing dispersed and virtual teams

RGA invests significant resources to provide an environment in which our employees can continually learn and grow through all stages of their careers.

Technical expertise is critical to our organization, and a focus on professional development is one of the pillars within RGA’s career development philosophy. A suite of programs and workshops have been created for individual contributors, as well as for those in management and leadership roles, to support their development of effective interpersonal and leadership skills. In 2020, we successfully transitioned these programs to a virtual environment to ensure continuity in workforce development.

At RGA, we understand that our employees are our greatest asset. We firmly believe that investing in their continuous learning and development fuels engagement, generates lasting business results, and helps meet our promises to each other, our clients, our investors, and our communities.
