When the COVID-19 outbreak was declared a pandemic and the world started conducting business remotely, RGA teams across the Middle East region instantly knew that getting closer to clients and maintaining focus on opportunities were more important than ever.

In 2020, RGA Middle East continued to utilize strong local operations and customized solutions to deepen client relationships and increase business volume. In the new, virtual business environment, the team’s discipline, agility, and strong relationship network made it possible to maintain and even elevate service excellence.

RGA is recognized as a leading reinsurer in the region not simply for our superior capacity, rating security, and local accessibility, but because we deliver results. We bring expert solutions, technical support, and innovative products tailored to meet the needs of the market, and the pandemic did not prevent us from delivering outstanding results again in 2020.

The Middle East team executed on our growth strategy throughout the year, from landing our largest-ever deal in the region with an Abu Dhabi-based insurer to creating innovative solutions to comply with regulatory changes across the region – all while retaining almost 100% of existing business.

In the remote working environment, we ensured we kept clients informed of the latest industry trends and insights via webinars, online publications, as well as virtual coffee meetings. RGA also conducted a first-of-its-kind survey focusing on claims fraud, abuse, and leakage among prominent life and health insurance companies, both conventional and Takaful, across six markets in the Middle East.
